It has taken far too long, but things in the film and television industry are finally changing. Increasingly diverse representation in front of and behind the camera are giving rise to new voices and powerful stories that would have been difficult to find on screens large and small even a decade ago.

This article from ET Online, How Courtney Kemp, Mara Brock Akil and Other Women Are Leading a Black Renaissance on TV, goes in depth into the challenges faced by many women and people of color in the industry, and highlights recent success stories as more and more shows emphasizing diversity have come to the fore. Mentioned in the article is RMG client Dee Harris-Lawrence, Co-Executive Producer on Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G., and Executive Producer on the upcoming OWN series David Makes Man. Also lauded is the Showtime series The Chi, season two of which will be run by RMG client Ayanna Floyd.

We are proud of all our creators, especially those who are pushing boundaries to make way for incredible new talent.
