Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has just optioned the rights to Dan Simmons’ beloved coming-of-age horror novel, ‘Summer of Night’. Originally released in 1991, the book was nominated for a British Fantasy award, and kicked off a four-book series that ran until 2002’s ‘A Winter Haunting’.
A script for the project has already been written by Blacklist-inducted scribe Ben Poole, and the film is to be directed by Isaac Ezban, and produced by Ehren Kruger and Daniel Bobker.
This new Dan Simmons project comes on the heels of the upcoming television adaption of his book ‘The Terror’ on AMC.
