Rob Wolken grew up in St. Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in TV and Film Communications. After graduate school, Rob moved to Los Angeles and started his career in the famed William Morris Agency mailroom. Two years later, he became the youngest agent in the company’s 75-year history.
In 1999, Michael Ovitz recruited Wolken to become a television manager in his new company, Artists Management Group (AMG), where he ran the TV Representation Department, and packaged several TV shows including The Agency on CBS and The 4400 for USA. It was at AMG that Wolken and Baruch first worked together and formed a close friendship. In 2003, after Ovitz sold the majority of AMG to The Firm, Wolken transitioned the division before leaving entertainment to start his own company in an unrelated field.
In 2010, Rob returned to entertainment, and found a familiar home with his former colleague Jonathan Baruch here at Rain Management Group. Wolken first joined the company as a manager and operational consultant, and is now the co-owner and COO.
Rob handles artists in film, TV, theater and new media and some of his current clients include John Coles (Executive Producer- House of Cards/Netflix), Steven Kane (Creator and Executive Producer- The Last Ship), Chris Long (Executive Producer- The Americans), Steve & Jim Armogida (Executive Producers- School of Rock), Keith Huff (Supervising Producer- American Crime), Jim Hayman (Executive Producer- NCIS New Orleans), Randy Zisk (Executive Producer- Bones), Rick Cleveland (CoExecutive Producer- Man in the High Castle), Michael Katleman (Executive Producer- Zoo), Kevin Dowling (Executive Producer- The Catch) and many more.
In addition to managing the company and his clients, Rob is also the Executive Producer on the ABC Family/Freeform series Stitchers which is in its 2nd season. He is also a founding partner of Story By Entertainment, which is a new production and financing entity focused on building TV assets from underlying literary material.
Rob and his wife Amy have 6 kids (Jake, Scarlett, AJ, Will, Charlie, and Emily) and live in Newport Beach. He is an avid golfer, guitarist, and table tennis player.
