Jim Sadwith to Direct TNT's Allan Loeb Project

sadwithRMG client JIM SADWITH has signed on to direct the Untitled Allan Loeb pilot for TNT.  Based on Marshall Karp’s novel The Rabbit Factory, the Lionsgate TV-produced project centers on a recently widowed police detective (Steven Weber) and his newly married partner (D.L. Hughley).  Sadwith won an Emmy for directing the 1992 telefilm Sinatra, and is also remembered for the 2005 directed Elvis, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Rose McGowan.


Greg Giraldo

GregGiraldoWe are deeply saddened by the loss of long-time client and our dear friend Greg Giraldo.  Greg brought countless laughs and happiness to so many people, and his tragic passing comes as a shock to us all.  Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Greg’s family, friends, and the comedy community.  Greg was represented by Rain Management partner Rick Dorfman for 15 years.

The Six Coming This Summer

What? Where? When? is one of the most popular Russian game shows of all time, and it is coming to the United States thanks to the tireless efforts of Alec Schrager and Alex Reznick. A six-episode order has been issued for The Six and top British presenter Vernon Kay has been tapped to host the series, which is being produced for Merv Griffin Entertainment.

The show will separate itself from the typical quiz show model, which has been to test contestants encyclopedic knowledge, The Six features six contestants or “experts” who compete against viewers by trying to answer their questions selected by spinning a horizontal wheel.

The Six is slated to begin production this Summer.

Wayne McClammy Directing Desperados

Wayne McClammy, best known for his work directing the hilarious videos “I’m F**king Matt Damon” and “I’m F**king Ben Affleck” as well as the critically acclaimed The Sarah Silverman Program, has signed on to direct Universal’s comedy “Desperados”.  The film which can best be described as a female-oriented version of “The Hangover” will star Isla Fisher and will likely shoot later this year. We here at Rain wish him the best of luck.

This half-hour reality series created by visionary Duke Straub chronicles the often-absurd yet astonishing adventures of one of the most extraordinary performance wrestling groups in the country who will do just about anything inside and outside of the ring. A combination of “Jackass” and “Little People, Big World,” the series will be seen through the eyes of these extreme little people.

The “Half Pint Brawlers” consist of Puppet, the leader and founder of the group; Bobby, the ladies man; Kato, Bobby’s brother and veteran wrestler; Mad Mexx, the Immigration Sensation and hard core wrestler; Turtle, the rookie of the group paying his dues to become a Brawler; Teo, the smallest and most athletic member; and Spyder, the regular-size announcer for the group.
